Good Afternoon,
A huge thank you to all who joined us for our first TABLE of the year at our new location! Your energy, insights, and connections made this a fantastic kickoff to 2025.
Here’s a quick recap of what we covered:
T – Tips & Tricks
- Ginger Pitesa, Strategic Roofing reminded us to listen to the problem, trust those in our industry, and focus on providing vetted referrals instead of simply saying, “I don’t do that.” Be a connector!
- Michael Wholey of Wholey Media emphasized the power of video content—70% of social media videos are watched in silence, so adding subtitles is a must.
- Angi Trapp, LPT Realtor shared the Forewarn App, which allows you to look up records by phone number, helping professionals feel safer when meeting new clients.
A – Actions & Achievements
- Ryan Thompson, Hydrus Connect introduced ALISA AI, a customer relations tool that manages messages and helps answer client inquiries.
- AI is becoming a useful tool for budgeting and meal prep.
- Shaun & Shaun Moving celebrated 20 years in business!
- 5/3rd Bank was ranked #1 in customer service.
- Ginger continues her amazing work with Habitat for Humanity.
- Ryan was featured on the news for his incredible work on his AI product, ALISA.
- Wholey Media shot footage for 380 homes in 2024 and was named the preferred photographer for multiple brokerages in Tampa Bay!
B – Bitchin’ & Bothering
- A common struggle: ghosting—doing work, writing estimates, and not getting the job.
- Helpful Tip: When consistently following up with a potential client who just isn’t biting, try sending one last message like this:
“Hey [Client’s Name], I know there’s a fine line between staying in touch and being a nuisance, so I don’t want to overstep. This will be my last follow-up, but if you ever decide you’re ready for my services, I’d love to help. Feel free to reach out anytime!” Do not be afraid to add a touch of personality or humor to your messages.
- Goofy taglines help you stand out in a sea of generic AI responses.
L – Legal
- HB 3 – Social Media Restrictions for Children: This new law bans children under 14 years old from having social media accounts and requires parental consent for 14- and 15-year-olds. It specifically applies to platforms that allow user-generated content, data-tracking algorithms, and addictive scrolling features.
- Hurricane Tax Relief: If you suffered hurricane damages, you can deduct qualifying expenses for up to three years—check with your accountant! FEMA/insurance payouts don’t count, but any personal funds used toward repairs may be eligible. Apply for a Property Tax Refund due to a Catastrophic Event (DR-465 / PC-465) | Pinellas County Property Appraiser
